This Privacy Policy explains how Orange Dog ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Workshop Mechanic Post Creator (the "Service"), an AI-powered social media content generation and publishing tool for automotive businesses.

1. Information We Collect

When you use the Service, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: your name and email address.
  • Facebook connection data: Facebook Page ID(s) and Page access tokens for any business pages you choose to connect.
  • Generated content: captions, images, and posts created using the Service.
  • Usage analytics: basic information about how you interact with the Service (e.g. features used, errors encountered) to help us improve the product.

2. Why We Collect This Information

  • To authenticate you and provide access to your account.
  • To connect your Facebook Business Pages and publish content on your behalf.
  • To generate AI-powered social media content tailored to your business.
  • To maintain, debug, and improve the Service.

3. Facebook Login and the Pages API

We use Facebook Login and the Facebook Pages API to allow you to connect Facebook Business Pages that you own or administer. With your permission, we use the Page access token to publish content you create through the Service to your connected Pages. We only request the permissions necessary to provide this functionality.

You can revoke our access at any time via your Facebook settings (Settings → Business Integrations) or by disconnecting your Page within the Service.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely in Supabase, our cloud database provider. Facebook Page access tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Access to user data is restricted and protected by industry-standard security practices.

5. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing or any other purpose.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third-party services to function:

  • Meta / Facebook API — to authenticate users and publish content to connected Pages.
  • OpenAI API — to generate images and text content.
  • Anthropic API — to generate captions and copywriting.
  • Supabase — to host our database, authentication, and file storage.

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage solely to maintain authenticated sessions. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing facebook@orangedog.co.nz. See our Data Deletion page for full instructions. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for use by businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of New Zealand.
